Launch of global competition "Masuria Wonder of Nature 'for Polish students at home and abroad


In connection with the ongoing vote for 7 New Wonders of Nature, Government of Warmia and Mazury and Warmia-Mazury School Superintendent announce a competition for students and teachers living in Poland and abroad to promote the beauty of the most beautiful work of the Masurian Lake District.

The competition starts at the beginning of the new school year - 1 September . This is the third edition of the competition for children and adolescents, organized within the campaign "Masuria Wonder of Nature." First, the regional competition took place in 2009, when Masuria fought for entry to the final poll for 7 New Wonders of Nature. The second edition of 2010, allowed the participation of students from schools outside the region, while the present involves the addition of Polish student educational centers in the world, and the same teachers and kindergarten.


Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education
Already in March 2011, the patronage of the campaign "Masuria Wonder of Nature" took the Minister of Education - Ms. Catherine Hall, who wrote:

Appreciating the importance and the international prestige of the project, embrace the patronage of the campaign associated with participation in global competition Mazur "7 New Wonders of Nature." This initiative is a unique opportunity for Polish to promote a positive image of Polish abroad. Mazur Polish qualify for the group's most beautiful places in the world will certainly have a positive impact on the shaping of a sense of pride in their own country in children and adolescents. I believe in the success of this project, the natural consequence will be a permanent change in perception of Mazur and Polish in the world. All those involved in the project wish you every success and satisfaction of performance goals.
Special words of encouragement to participate in the competition, the Ministry of Education sent to all superintendents and all directors of Polish schools in Poland and Polish educational centers in the world.
Minister Katarzyna Hall also founded the prize.

More Masuria
The competition aims to encourage children and young people and their teachers and parents to explore Mazur - one of the most beautiful regions of Europe and the world, Polish finalist in the global competition the Swiss Foundation "New7Wonders" 7 New Wonders of Nature. The competition is also mobilizing students, their parents and teachers to directly vote in plebiscite world, as well as creating a catalog of scenarios and student work to promote the beauty of Mazur.

- We want to vote for Masuria in this global project was an example of promoting patriotism among students and contributed to learning about world history by exploring the world of architecture and monuments of nature - says Jacek Protas, Marshal of the Warmia and Mazury.

7 categories
The competition begins on 1 September 2011, consists of two stages - regional (1 - 30 September 2011) and nationwide (1-31 October 2011).

Will be played in the following categories:

a) kindergarten - art competition (any form and technique),
b) primary schools - art competition (any form and technique)
c) secondary schools - art competition (forms: poster)
d) secondary schools - Photographic (form: work up to 12 slides on a CD in any program)
e) Youth organizations - the description of a custom event in a competition that promotes Masuria New7Wonders realized in 2011
f) Polish pupils (forms of work same as above)
g) teachers - a competition for the Screenplay lessons about Mazur.


World School Day Voting
On 15 September 2011 will be held in all schools and institutions in Poland and Polish institutions abroad WORLD DAY SCHOOL VOTE Polish candidate for the New7Wonders contest. Such a vote on one day in Poland and abroad will make students and teachers directly contribute to this campaign in a contest to promote Polish New7Wonders the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Collective participation in the vote to confirm the photo. Photo of the vote, along with a description of (country, city, school, class) can be sent to: redakcja@warmia.mazury.pl. Submitted photos will take part in a special raffle prize.

Founders awards for the winners are: Minister of National Education, Marshal of Warmia and Mazury and Warmia-Mazury School Superintendent.
